If you are looking for mellow background music, solo piano (light classical, jazz or pop) retro swing bands, Brazilian latin sounds, or burning bebop, Blue House can be a wonderful resource for your event. Musical ensembles can range in size from intimate jazz duos to larger groups, depending on the needs of the presenter.
About Sherri Roberts and David Udolf:
Called “a superior bop and standards vocalist “ by the Los Angeles Times, Sherri Roberts has a multi-faceted background in music, theatre performance and management. Blurring the line between cabaret and jazz singing, Ms. Roberts performs the tunes of Broadway and Tin Pan Alley in modern jazz settings, while her great affinity for Brazilian music and the compositions of contemporary jazz artists keeps her song choices personal and exciting.
Sherri has three critically acclaimed cds under her belt. The Sky Could Send You, her latest recording, is produced and arranged by bassist Harvie S with special guests – legendary saxophonist Phil Woods and trumpet virtuoso Lew Soloff. All About Jazz effuses: “This recording elevates Sherri Roberts to another level within the jazz vocalist galaxy of stars.” While JazzTimes calls this singer simply “Enchanting.”
Pianist David Udolf moved to the Bay Area in early 1991 after touring the world for several years as a musical director for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. He toured for six years with San Francisco’s own legendary New Pickle Circus and in addition has played with Terri Bryant of the Fifth Dimension, singer Mary Stallings, saxophonist Herb Geller, Joe Piscopo and R&B legend Bo Diddley.
